16th century backdrop for 21st century trends

18/05/2009

Mode...information Belgium will host a Mudpie AW1011 Trend Seminar next week in a castle that stands in the grounds of a 14th century fortress near Ghent, Belgium.

On Tuesday May 26, attendees from various regions will come together in the picturesque River Leie area, southwest of Ghent, to hear Ben Harris present Mudpie's forecast trend, colour and lifestyle information for the autumn winter 2010/2011 season.

Entitled 'Blurred Vision', the seminar will take attendees through Mudpie's AW1011 Forecast trends, using inspiration and imagery from their research and analysis, their leading range of Trendbooks and Mudpie's online global fashion intelligence website - Mpdclick.com.

'Blurred Vision' defines an evolution of consumer habits with a more cautious and less throw-away attitude. Customers seek out an imaginative retail experience and a creative identity to match nostalgia for care-free times. The need to flee the troubles of modern life is realised in escapist pursuits or alternatively, sanctuary is being found in the familiar as cultural roots and heritage are applauded and revived.

The seminar, hosted by mode...information Belgium, is expected to welcome 50 attendees from a diverse range of industries and will include designers, buyers and stylists working in the womenswear, accessories, menswear and childrenswear markets.

The venue for the seminar is as impressive as the content - a 16th century stately home, Ooidonk Castle, which was built in the centre of a 14th century fortress, most of which no longer exists. However, the castle itself is an impressive private home, opened to the public by its owners, with events such as this Mudpie seminar being held in the ornate surroundings of the dining room, drawing room or tapestry gallery.

The Mudpie AW1011 Trend Seminar begins at 930am on Tuesday May 26 at Ooidonk Castle. For more information, please click here or contact info@modeinfo.be.
