MAGIC closes doors on international trend interpretation23/07/2009 MAGIC, "the world's largest fashion trade event", have announced their partnership this season with a single USA based trend service, to provide trend information - show wide. Despite the show decreasing in size last season, MAGIC have decided to further narrow the vision of their show by negotiating an exclusive partnership which involves Fashion Snoops providing Galleries, Colour cards, Trend Forums, Buyers Guides and the entire Seminar Series for the Las Vegas show. MAGIC, who brand themselves as "the world's largest fashion trade event", have effectively shut the doors on their usually impressive international line up of trend forecasters for the up and coming show, instead choosing to partner only with the USA online trend service, Fashion Snoops. This season Promostyl, Mudpie and other European agencies have not been invited to attend MAGIC, a move which will see a much more localized domestic focus on what used to be a global show. So, for Mudpie followers, this means the customary series of Men's, Women's and Children's Fashion Seminars, presented by CEO and Expert Trend Analyst, Fiona Jenvey, will not be part of this season's MAGIC seminar programme. Mudpie were pleased to continue their strong relationship with MAGIC this August and, as in past seasons, deliver professional seminars to audiences of 400+ during the show. However, the exclusivity of the deal has shut the door on other trend services taking part. Fiona Jenvey, CEO of Mudpie said, "It is a shame that MAGIC has chosen to work with a single trend partner and therefore narrowing the focus of the event during such challenging times. It seems that the show is becoming very much an event for the USA market and is possibly losing its international focus, this is evident in the line up of speakers at this season's edition." It is unclear what financial incentive has been offered to MAGIC by Fashion Snoops to secure such an exclusive arrangement. Fiona Jenvey further added, "We have partnered with several events over the years and are always happy to encourage other trend services to partner alongside us. Choice strengthens the focus of the show and offers an enhanced buyer and visitor experience - a compelling advantage in my opinion."
