a successful season of global trend exposure rounds up at mudpie

25/08/2009

There was no break in the busy seminar and trade fair schedule on the Mudpie calendar this year, with the autumn/winter 2010/2011 season kicking off in May, just two weeks after closing the SS10 season at GlobalTex, LA in April 2009.
In this time, Mudpie have visited 13 cities in 11 countries across the world, delivering their AW1011 trend presentations and showing their products at industry trade fairs.

The new season saw the implementation of three main trends for Mudpie, instead of the traditional four, and the presentation, entitled ‘Blurred Vision’ delivered clear, concise and commercial trend analysis for the women’s, men’s and childrenswear markets. Mudpie’s seminars include background and trend research information, inspiring colour palettes, product ideas, street and runway imagery plus a graphic and textile focus.

Ben Harris, Sales Director at Mudpie, started the season off presenting ‘Blurred Vision’ to an audience in Turkey. Hosted by the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporter Associations (iTKiB), in conjunction with Ahu Barut of Neva Tekstil, the seminar attracted more than 175 attendees representing a large volume of the Istanbul fashion industry from both large and small businesses.
Next, Ben travelled to Ghent to present the AW1011 trends to the Belgian market. Held in the impressive 16th century stately home, Ooidonk Castle, the seminar, hosted by mode...information Belgium, welcomed more than 50 attendees from a diverse range of industries including designers, buyers and stylists working in the womenswear, accessories, menswear and childrenswear markets.

June followed with a succession of presentations by both Fiona Jenvey, CEO of Mudpie and Ben Harris, in New York, Paris and Amsterdam, as well as Mudpie’s first trade fair stand for the season at Pitti Bimbo, Florence, Italy.

In July, Mudpie presented their online trend service Mpdclick.com, alongside their agent mode...information at the relocated Bread & Butter in Berlin.

Not wanting to ignore the Spanish market, Mudpie then showed at Barcelona’s new show, The Brandery – a replacement for Bread & Butter now missing from Spain’s calendar.

OPR, Mudpie’s USA East Coast agent, then presented a Denim specific Mpdclick presentation during TexWorld in New York.
The last four weeks have seen Mudpie presenting in both hemispheres – firstly at Fashion Exposed in Melbourne, Australia, a first for Mudpie. This was closely followed by trend seminars at Munich Fabric Start in Germany and then to audiences in Göteborg, Sweden. Mudpie’s Swedish agents, Colourhouse hosted a trend seminar programme where Ben Harris presented Mudpie’s AW1011 trends alongside other special guests including Tony Bannister of Scout.

Mudpie have just returned from a busy and successful week at Premiere Vision, Paris, the world’s premier fabric fair where they showed their products to visitors in the Trend Bureaux area. Next week, Mudpie will again attend Modtissimo, in conjunction with Fatima Leite of Mudpie Portugal, where they will have a stand and also present the AW1011 trends to the Portuguese market.

The season will round up in mid October with Mudpie partnering with GlobalTex in Los Angeles once again to deliver directional trend forums and displays, as well as three trend seminars for the women’s, men’s and childrenswear markets.
