UK trend forecasting company, Mudpie once again enjoyed a thriving show at the third edition of GlobalTex last week, with a large volume of books being sold and a consistently busy stand. GlobalTex welcomed more than 2,000 attendees from 22 countries and saw a 35% increase in exhibitor numbers, meaning that the March edition was hailed as the US textile show that every designer, buyer and retailer should attend.
Fiona Jenvey, CEO of Mudpie said “we were thrilled that both exhibitor and visitor numbers were up this season and traffic was brisk on the show floor. We sold a high volume of our Best of Graphic books and had particular interest in our Print & Pattern trendbook. We also exhibited the Denimhead books; a collection of denim and casual sportswear publications which proved extremely popular.”
Mudpie are very committed to their exclusive partnership with GlobalTex, providing attendees with the highest level of international trend intelligence and prefer to help GlobalTex grow rather than take up the offer of working with other shows. “We are already developing some exciting plans for the autumn/winder 11/12 edition and the trend areas; these will feature Mudpie’s themes for the season: Synergy, Primal and Innovate”, comments Fiona Jenvey.
“Taking cues from the leading shows in Europe, GlobalTex delivered a professional, high-end atmosphere while offering leading trend resources,” said Cindy Morris, COO, Market Center Management Company. “Our partnership with Mudpie helps bring relevant trend information to the show floor and provides key education information for attendees.”
During the 3-day event Mudpie hosted successful trend seminars and welcomed nearly 250 attendees overall. Mudpie presented an in-depth vision of global fashion trends for the young contemporary men’s, women’s and children’s urban, casual, denim and resort markets for spring/summer 11; including inspirational garments, prints, graphics and color direction.
Mudpie’s agent for the USA West Coast Pat Brandt, of The Patricia Brandt Company was present at the show and agreed that “we were very pleased with the quality of the attendees at GlobalTex and we made many sales on the stand and have met some new clients and contacts that we are now busy following up on. We received some very positive feedback on the quality of Mudpie’s seminars. GlobalTex is a very professional show with strong management and a well put together concept”
The GlobalTex show continues to gain momentum and Mudpie is already anticipating great things for the next edition in September.
