mudpie & carlin international create a must-attend trend event for uk market (gbr)

04/07/2008

Recognised as the UK's foremost & most comprehensive trend offer, each season the Designer Forum holds an amazing series of audio-visual trend presentations bringing together many of the leading International trend agencies to provide the essential guide to colours, fabrics & shapes for all sectors.

Held at Nottingham’s Broadway Cinema on June 24, in the aptly designed ‘Paul Smith’ room complete with iconic striped chair covers, the presentation attracted interest from around fifty designers, retailers and buyers from key UK brands.

The day saw Designer Forum team up with the UK’s leading authority on kids & teen trends, Mudpie, with Fiona Jenvey, Mudpie CEO delivering an inspiring overview of the baby, kids, & teen trends for the A/W 2009/10 season. Highlights of Fiona’s presentation included an insight into ‘Futurist’, a trend where the fashion of East meets West is re-defined as “East meets East”, and how Asia’s rising stars reinvent their own culture and create a new avant-garde aesthetic.

Delegates were also given the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win a free three month subscription to Mpdclick.com, Mudpie’s comprehensive & up-to-the-minute web based trend intelligence service. This prize was offered by Mudpie following the success of Mpdclick being available to Designer Forum’s members via their Trend Resource Library in Nottingham during the first three months of this year.

Fiona Jenvey, CEO of Mudpie Ltd, said, “The Designer Forum audience has turned out yet again to benefit from the trend information and inspiration offered through their seasonal seminar series. Having offered the Designer Forum three month’s free access to Mpdclick earlier this year, I was happy to meet some of their members who have taken advantage of our website being in the library. We had some great feedback on the service, as well as our trendbooks, especially the new look layout and content for the latest AW0910 books.”

The day was structured so that in the afternoon delegates could then also view Carlin International’s Childrenswear & Key Influences AW0910 presentation, providing a great opportunity for attendees to cross-reference looks between the two agencies.

Attendees also had the added advantage of being able to compare the content of each presentation, giving them invaluable insight into product development for their next collections.

Mudpie are delighted to be continuing a strong relationship with Designer Forum and are pleased to now be a regular presenter within their seasonal trend programme, especially as the seminar series have now become an essential part of the kidswear design calendar.
