The fashion industry turned out in force in June to attend the International Colour & Trend Forum hosted by OPR (Overseas Publishers Representatives) at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York.

This event was a proud partnership between the Professional Studies Program at FIT and OPR for the second time running. The bi-annual seminar was held on Tuesday 17th June 2008, in The Katie Murphy Amphitheater at FIT, following the success of their first sold out seminar in the same venue last December.

The impressive list of international speakers presented their views on colour & trend for the A/W 2009/10 season plus a preview of colour forecasting for S/S 2010.

The speakers included Ben Gomes, renowned trend forecaster and Creative Director of OPR; Carol Meek, President of Colour Portfolio Inc, a popular USA based colour service; Fiona Jenvey, CEO of Mudpie Ltd, the leading UK based kids and youth publisher and Tod Schulman, Vice President of Pantone Inc., the internationally recognised colour standard for home and Textile Design Products. OPR was particularly pleased to welcome Lisa Mainardi, Producer of Direction Print Tradeshow; and Roseann Forde, The President of Fordecasting, who were both new speakers for A/W 2009/10.

All of the participating speakers donated trend products published by their respective companies as prizes for a closing raffle. Prizes ranged in value from $150.00 to $2750.00.
