07/4/2010
New trendbooks first in market available both in printed and web‐based versions. New titles
for children, MPD Kids & MPD Baby, launched as Mudpie repositions childrenswear trend
information.
With the release of its AW11/12 forecasts Mudpie, the world’s leading trend forecasting company, has become the first trendbook publisher to produce its publications both in hard copy and on‐line book formats – making it easier for you to access information within an organisation or while on the move.
As a result of collaboration with the industry and our clients, this latest season’s collection of publications also includes a revision of our children’s’ wear products into MPD Kids, a new title that includes pre-school to tween trends.
The full range of Mudpie titles just released is: MPD Female, MPD Male, MPD Kids – pre‐school to tween trends and MPD Baby. These accompany the recently released MPD Print & Pattern – home & interior trends and MPD Active – sportswear trends for the AW11/12 season. Each book provides a platform from which you can reinvent or create your own unique fashion, sportswear or home and interior ranges.
“We are constantly in discussions with our clients and all sectors of the industry looking at innovative ways to make our products and services as accessible and as useful as possible,” explains Fiona Jenvey, Mudpie’s CEO. “This season we have pioneered a web-based edition of our trend books, which makes it a vital tool that can now be easily accessed when working
away from the office and can make an entire book available to everyone in a company from any internet connection."
“Our new title, MPD Kids, has also been born out of discussions with clients and merges the existing Mudpie and Minipie titles, while MPD Baby replaces Cutiepie.”
Additional features to the Autumn/Winter 2011/12 season Mudpie trendbooks include:
- More trend information is provided in a new magazine, MPD Trends, supplied with all trendbooks. This 96 page magazine brings a new focus to the trend information in the trendbooks by presenting full trend research, mood boards and Pantone® referenced colours in an easily digestible format.
- Artwork pages in the new trendbooks have increased from the SS11 season, bringing subscribers more graphics, more prints and more badges.
- All titles contain expanded colour palettes, giving relevant colour ranges across each trend – providing you with additional directional options.
- All our publications now give three commercial researched trends for the season and have introduced three transitional phases within each trend: Phase 1 ‐ late summer/early autumn, Phase 2 ‐ autumn/early winter, Phase 3 ‐ high winter.
This season Mudpie has worked with three main trends:
Synergy: A new era of pragmatism, simplicity and efficiency is dawning. A fresh model for living is sought across the globe in retaliation against decades of excess and heady capitalism. We look to the Nordic states for inspiration. Social cohesion is key to a peaceful future with diversity not only tolerated, but celebrated and utilized through group participation, both in the community and the workplace. The regeneration of urban spaces is on the agenda to harmonise with a contemporary and metropolitan way of living.
Primal: A renewed sense of spiritualism evokes an affinity with the natural world and the rediscovery of the instincts buried deep within us all. Many modern lifestyles have lead to a detachment from our environment, pushing us towards an empty, cold future and a despondent attitude towards the inevitable crisis of climate change. The rebirth of a new spiritual civilization suggests a resourceful and nomadic existence, living close to nature, stimulating a drive for creating beauty and progression out of disaster.
Innovate: The race is on for new discoveries and solutions, with an accelerated sense of urgency as science is heralded as the savior of a trouble stricken age. This contemporary trend marks an optimistic outlook towards a new existence, free of economic doom and gloom, while rediscovering the benefits of an intellectual approach. Keen observation and understanding enables us to learn from past events and push for a formulaic attitude to global advancement.
