Mudpie Plans Asia Expansion
9/5/2010
Organisation recognises ‘massive potential’ for its trend forecasting products
Mudpie, leading international design and fashion trend forecasting organisation, is expanding its presence in Asia with the opening of its 14th branded office in Tokyo.
The new office, to be run in collaboration with Taiyo Trading Company, one of Japan’s leading fashion and trend information providers, is part of the organisation’s plans to expand its network of agents and distributors in Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong.
Mudpie’s online trend forecasting service, mpdclick, has seen a significant rise in subscriptions from these countries in the past year, prompting Andrew Jenvey, Mudpie’s CIO and CFO, to undertake a tour of the area to evaluate the potential for translating the service into key Asian languages,
“I’m impressed with how dynamic the region is and I see a massive potential for our products, particularly if we get them translated,” comments Andrew Jenvey. “I’ve visited a number of potential companies that could help us develop a presence and position in this market and recognize that Asia could become a key part of our strategic development.”
Mudpie is also planning to host one of its popular trend seminars, presented by industry expert Fiona Jenvey, in Tokyo later in 2010.
